چکیده
INTRODUCTION Alendronate sodium enhances bone formation and increases osteoblast proliferation and maturation and leads to the inhibition of osteoblast apoptosis. Therefore, a rapid and simple spectrofluorometric method has been developed and validated for the quantitative determination of it. METHODS The procedure is based on the reaction of primary amino group of alendronate with o-phthalaldehyde (OPA) in sodium hydroxide solution. RESULTS The calibration graph was linear over the concentration range of 0.0-2.4 μM and limit of detection and limit of quantification of the method was 8.89 and 29 nanomolar, respectively. The enthalpy and entropy of the reaction between alendronate sodium and OPA showed that the reaction is endothermic and entropy favored (ΔH = 154.08 kJ/mol; ΔS = 567.36 J/mol K) which indicates that OPA interaction with alendronate is increased at elevated temperature. CONCLUSION This simple method can be used as a practical technique for the analysis of alendronate in various samples.

An electrode immobilized in a graphite matrix with ion pair complex for the determination of diclofenac in pharmaceuticals
A simple, precise, rapid and low-cost potentiometric method for diclofenac determination in pharmaceuticals is proposed. A new diclofenac-sensitive electrode was constructed by incorporating the diclofenac ion pair complex with butyl rhodamine B into graphite matrix. The electrode exhibited a linear response over the concentration range of 1 × 10-4 – 5 × 10-2 mol L-1, a detection limit of 3.9×1...
متن کاملSpectrophotometric Determination of Pantoprazole Sodium in Pharmaceuticals Using N-Bromosuccinimide, Methyl Orange and Indigo Carmine as Reagents
Two sensitive spectrophotometric methods are presented for the assay of pantoprazole sodium sesqui hydrate (PNT) in bulk drug and in formulations using N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) and two dyes, methyl orange and indigo carmine, as reagents. The methods involve the addition of a known excess of NBS to PNT in acid medium, followed by determination of unreacted oxidant by reacting with a fixed a...

متن کاملSimultaneous Determination of Diosmin and Hesperidin in Pharmaceuticals by RPLC using Ionic Liquids as Mobile Phase Modifiers
Diosmin and hesperidin are natural flavonoid glycosides found in various plant materials, mainly in citrus fruits in different concentrations. Diosmin for pharmaceutical use is obtained mainly semi-synthetically from hesperidin. Hesperidin often accompanies diosmin as a natural impurity in different pharmaceutical formulations; therefore, a simple, fast and precise method for the simultaneous a...
